To sum it up, Officer Lauderback doxxed a councilwoman who got a budget passed that stripped the local PD nearly a million dollars. Two days a later, someone assaulted her neighbor mistaking her neighbor for her and violently raped the neighbor. And before you say, how do you know the rapist is mistaken? They live in a duplex so they have the same address. And the rapist told the victim that “maybe she will learn her lesson” before throwing her to the ground.
So yeah, the police are targeting politicians now.

listen. l i s t e n. listen. kudos does not equal quality. popularity does not equal quality. i have read some “fandom classics” that i could barely fathom how boring or terrible i - personally - found them, and i have stumbled across some absolute gems that didn’t even break 100 kudos.
what is good doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. it’s sad, but true. just because you haven’t - or possibly never take - off in fandom doesn’t mean your work isn’t astounding and beautiful, it doesn’t mean you should stop writing; it just means that a very select corner of the internet missed the diamond in the rough.
fanfiction is flooded with content, there are so many of us out there producing it these days, and having a fic that takes off is almost as much about luck as it is about talent. never let a few artificial numbers on the internet dictate to you what is and isn’t worthy writing.
additionally, you don’t have to read or enjoy fics just bcs they’re big. i cannot count the amount of times i’ve read the first paragraph of something fandom adores and immediatly exited out of it.
just… do what makes you happy. write what you wanna write, read what you wanna read. understand that while we all want recognition - and some deserve it more than others - we did not get into fanfiction for that recognition.
recognition is good, but sometimes we get all tangled up chasing it and stop enjoying writing and reading and fandom as a whole along the way. be careful of that, please, or you’ll burn yourself out.

Just a post to let you all know that surgery went well and I am recovering. I return to the hospital in a month to discuss whether or not I need more intensive surgery. Thank you so much to everyone that has sent me such warm and kind messages.

Hey guys. So, I FINALLY updated Hunted for you. I’ve put an author’s note in the chapter but will explain on here anyway.
IMPORTANT AUTHOR’S NOTE:
I’ve been working on my recovery and rehabilitation for 5 years now and I’ve been working damn hard through programmes with the hospital etc to get to where I am now. Which means that I’ve FINALLY been given a date for my long-awaited, much needed surgery. I found out 2 weeks ago that I will be having surgery at one of the major hospitals in London next Tuesday.
Now with Covid19 buggering up our wedding, meaning it is postponed, at least some good has come from it. Me and my partner are currently self-isolating per the hospital’s instructions and we have lots of procedures to keep me safe.
I wanted to let you all know because many of you have been on this journey with me and sent supportive well-wishes at every step. It also means that because of what the operation entails, I will be unable to sit and type for a few weeks, maybe longer. However, as soon as I can, I’ll be back to work on updates and will hopefully make it worth your wait. Thank you soooo much guys and I really hope that you enjoy this chapter.
(As a side bar, if you think that I should be using any tags or making trigger warnings on anything that I’ve missed, please send me a message.)

Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.

Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.

okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because it’s a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back
“Sun-tama-tama” (a pun off of “Santama”, lit. “third Tama”) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tama’s successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, “I will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.” [25]
As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tama’s Twitter account.

For those who might think a cat, lazy and easily distracted, is not a good patron for a railway, I suggest that such a deity would ensure the railway ran at maximum efficiency so laziness could be enjoyed without distraction.

If you’re like me and have a large gap under your front door (someone could take a stick and just poke the leaning stick style door jam out), I recommend the Addalock. It’s small, perfect for traveling, and this lock is CRAZY. It’s so simple but the door does not move.
You can’t see it from the other side, either. It also cost about $20, and I can’t recommend it enough. Easy to travel with, too! Great for Air BnBs!
That’s why I have these on my doors. They get drilled into the side and once its flipped over the door nothing is getting it open. Not the door being unlocked nothing, I’ve unlocked the door and pulled and pushed as hard as I could and it didn’t budge. When I go on a trip this is what I use and when I’m home I leave it on too. No one is getting in here.
Okay I know that it is necessary for many but what do you do if you need medical attention and you’re not able to open the door from the inside? Can the fire department get through these at least?
Yes. The fire department can and will break down your door if necessary, it’s one of the reasons they have axes; it’s entirely possible for door frames to melt/expand/seize or otherwise become unopenable during a house fire but the door itself can be hacked down. Or the window. In rare cases, the wall. Firefighters don’t fuck around with collateral damage when lives are at stake.
